Modern menorah…

Karim Rashid brings a groovy spin to a traditional ritual object There certainly seems to be a million and a half ways to trim a self-expressive, funky Christmas tree. But when it comes to menorahs, face it, modern style just seems to have taken an 8-day leave. What's a style-hungry fashionista looking for something in the way of Chanukah-lite lights to do? Thank acclaimed industrial designer Karim Rashid for designing, Menorahmorph, an aesthically groovy menorah with mondo design that's more than within your reach-- Hanukkah for the twenty-first century! Commissioned by The Jewish Museum in honor of its centennial, Menorahmorph brings a groovy spin to a traditional ritual object. Finally, our quest has been answered to find a modern menorah.

Well, once in a very short while, you can find a cute holiday sweater, like the ASOS Christmas

"Happy Everything" Lord & Taylor Holiday Window Unveiling
Retail Remedy: There's nothing that says  holiday shopping more than the launch of Christmas windows Of all the department holiday windows in New York, Lord & Taylor is a perennial favorite as one of the most classic and heartwarming. This year's theme being “What is Christmas Made Of?”  The store asked children from Women In Need shelters and local schools to draw what they believe Christmas is made of. The mechanical holiday windows were inspired by their art and feature 125 of the original drawings. MORE: Holiday Windows One  of my favorite snippets from the store's window, pictured right,  is "Holiday is for Everyone, " featuring a rather chic woman in a red jacket trimming the tree with a Chanukah menorah

Chanukah may be the Festival of Lights, but it's pretty dim on the design side. All we want for Chanukah are decorative objects that offer the same design aesthetic as any other item in our home. There should be a bit of whimsy for the children, but not goofy. It should incorporate tradition and modernity. It should be more than "descent enough" for Chanukah. It must be gorgeous enough to stand on its own design merits. Well, after sifting through a slew of tchotchkes, we finally turned up something cute. Jonathan Adler's mod enamel driedels
