The Rachel Roy Spring 2010 Collection shown at Cedar Lake on West 26th Street, which used to be Annie Leibovitz's photo studio back in the day...
was a pleasant surprise, not only for the main event of very tailored yet sexy fitted clothes-- neutral palettes with shots of bright teal, chartreuse and a purpley/pink-- but also for the venue, presentation, and celebrity chitchat.
I usually don’t like running around to different show venues except near The Tents, but it really was a beautiful day, so I did not mind. I was not alone... Patrick McMullen was schmoozing, flirting and of course posing with Mary Alice Stephenson, the fashion stylist. Instead of Patrick taking the pics, other photogs were taking pics of him and her!

While we're not self-professed Lindsay Lohan watchers here, I do love the way she's paired a very sculpted and structured leather jacket with soft jeans.
I think you should take note too!
Here we have Lindsey Lohan wearing Recession Denim Gypsy pants with a structured leather jacket in NYC. LL is walking alongside Recession denim designer, Danialla Siri and toting her blue jean Hermes Birkin bag, along with a few more pairs in hand from the Recession denim line-- looks like a fruitful meeting!

Fashion’s Night Out- Downtown fashion and art scene…
Last night was Vogue’s “Fashion’s Night Out,” a city-wide shopping event with hundreds of shops staying open til 11pm, providing music & cocktails to not only get customers motivated to shop, but to also remind them of the joy of fashion itself.
And with the state of today’s economy, it was a rather refreshing and well-planned initiative to get people excited.
I didn’t personally see many cash registers buzzing, but what I did love was the communal air it gave the city of New York, where the streets were filled with well suited crowds of people, all out for a good time and a good cause.

The fabulousness never ends…
Dear Diary: Fashion’s Night Out started out as a must-see stop for me at the Giorgio Armani boutique to hear a special reading by Rosie O’Donnell from “Love, Loss, and What I Wore,” a new play by Nora Ephron and Della Ephron, based on the book by Ilene Beckerman. The evening instead turned into my own version of loving, loss, and what I wore!
I have to admit that unless it’s embedded in my brain from some cosmic cryptoid, there is a very good chance that I will end up at the wrong address on the wrong date. Starting my evening out with all good intentions downtown, I found myself weighing through the gang of girls in too short dresses and fake-bake tans making their way to MeatPa events and who filled every taxi as I tried to head uptown. In the nick of time, I finally arrived at the Armani store.
But it was the wrong Armani store!
