Alix and Colin are almost midway through their trip around the world.
Their global backpacking adventure to all points exotic took a very chic turn when they stopped off to sample the custom clothing and shoes from the tailors and cobblers in Hội An, a city located in the South Central Coast of Vietnam.
According to Wikipedia, in 1999, the old town of Hoi An was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO as a well-preserved example of a Southeast Asian trading port of the 15th to 19th centuries, with buildings that display a unique blend of local and foreign influences.
Here, Alix and Colin share their Vietnam shopping diary with you, and they were certainly roused by the trading of local and foreign influences!

These shoes are so gorgeous, it's like shoe porn!!!!
If you know me, you would understand what a shoe freak I am, so this post was pure delight! I worked in Delman, the fancy ladies shoe salon at Bergdorf Goodman in NY back in the early 80's where gorgeous shoes were part of design.
If you don't know me, just ask Sharon and she can share some mutual shoe drool stories with you-- starting with the time that I found her the most incredible fuchsia, ankle wrap Charles Jourdan disco heels! On second thought, maybe you shouldn't ask...
To make all you shoe fanatics jealous, I had the distinct pleasure of attending two major shoe events in the same day- the Manolo Blahnik spring preview and the unveiling of the world's largest shoe department at Galeries Lafayette, Paris.

Jessica Simpson's travel style, is it an it or a miss?
Sometimes living out of a suitcase isn't easy.
There are those who, sadly, opt for the schelpper look when traveling with saggy sweats and clunky sneakers.
Then there are the travelers who get their basics all together. So chic, so jealous.
Some are pack rats who wear whatever doesn't fit in their suitcase.

Look no further for some gift ideas that brim with Paris chic. Richard Nahem who designs custom walking tours of Paris helps a reader receive the perfect gift from Paris!
Question: I have a fairly wealthy male friend who lives in Paris and Deauville, as well as Andorra. He is coming to visit in three weeks and wants to know what I want him to bring me from France.
I don't want him to choose clothes for me, for obvious reasons-- what does he know and will it fit?
What would be something totally cool that I could ask him to bring that not your typical girl from Kentucky would have? Scarf? Handbag?
I just wanted to know what the Paris trends were and something a man can just go and buy, and not use his own intuition.
I don't want anything I can get here, say, at Macy's. (Louisville, KY)

Road trip shopping in Montana and Wyoming for iconic western fashion…
Oh, give me a home where the buffalo roam…
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word, except when it comes to the fashion that’s cloudy all day!
City slicker fashion peeps have a romantic and idolized view of Western clothing. We assume that the fabulous fringe, perfectly worn in cowboy boots, dusty dark jeans, and delicately beaded belts are an easy find in any shop in a town where lodgepole pine outweighs cement or old time shoot ‘em up references still apply.
