Even web sites get nips and tucks!

Wow, wow, wow.

As the naughty aughties (what are we supposed to call this decade anyway?) come to a close, I thought it would be fun to look at how FocusOnStyle.com has evolved through the decade.

Web design is like a hairstyle. You look at old photos and wonder what were you thinking, or my you do look mighty fine.

FocusOnStyle has been online 10 years as one of the first independently owned web sites and certainly one of the longest lasting on the web.

Learn About Us. About Sharon. See us In the News. Our Contributors.

The concept for the site began as an extension from my Focus on Style fashion advice column on Scripps Howard News Service. After the column moved from the newswire to syndication it needed a B2B spot on the then booming Internet. The readership kept expanding, people kept writing in for fashion advice and my stylist tips. Before I knew it, an online consumer fashion site was born! Blogs were barely around at the time and the ones that did exist, were really online personal journals-- the web has certainly come a long way.

Here we are a decade later, always doing our best to stay modern and valid- just as we tell you to do when it comes to your personal look.
As almost anyone online will tell you, each new web design is like giving birth to walrus without an epidural. It's long, sometimes painful, and finally very rewarding work. We're in Beta of our latest web site look with more tweaks, tricks, and tidbits launching soon.

Take a look at our design history...

Marc by Marc Jacobs - Cold Weather Sneaker Boots

Fantastic! These Marc by Marc Jacobs high top sneakers are a bit of a stray from the expected, but that is exactly why we love them. Must-have!

On-trend and classic at the same time. We love the figure- flattering A-line cut of this double-breasted coat with gold buttons and shoulder detail. A fashion keeper!
