Retail Remedy: Louis Vuitton + Stephen Sprouse = Paris Love, 80’s style

LV hearts Sprouse

The 80’s on rewind…

The late Stephen Sprouse, one of the hottest New York designers from the 1980s, is B-A-C-K!

His signature dayglo colors of hot pink, fluorescent green, and juicy orange are brightening the windows of the Louis Vuitton shop on the Champs Elysees in Paris.

The Sprouse windows brim with his graffiti style scrawl T-shirts, swimsuits, jeans, shoes and bags that have Louis Vuitton spelled out on them along with a pink rose motif.

The Stephen Sprouse Book

High tops with orange mesh, black patent straps, and bright green trim are the LV Sprouse must-have sneaker for spring. The bright, fun collection is an homage by Marc Jacobs to Sprouse, who was his fashion mentor and inspiration.

In case that’s not enough 80’s retro for you, there’s a new coffee table book by Roger Padilha and Mauricio Padilha titled The Stephen Sprouse Book, with a forward by Tama Janowitz, author of Slaves of New York, the ultimate 80s New York story.

Can a Dynasty revival be right behind it? I’m channeling Krystal Carrington, just in case.

BTW: Michael Jackson’s Thriller is being turned into a Broadway musical. – Richard, The Paris Insider
