Dear Diary: One of the more interesting aspects of motherhood is that you find yourself thrown into a pool of people whose interests and social makeup are as dissimilar to yours as a bee is to a baby elephant.

But that should make it interesting, right?

A group of people blending together in a way that they would probably never meet, let alone socialize, other than having the common bond of being parents.

Fashion's Night Out from Giorgio Armani to Brad Boles

The fabulousness never ends…

Dear Diary: Fashion’s Night Out started out as a must-see stop for me at the Giorgio Armani boutique to hear a special reading by Rosie O’Donnell from “Love, Loss, and What I Wore,” a new play by Nora Ephron and Della Ephron, based on the book by Ilene Beckerman. The evening instead turned into my own version of loving, loss, and what I wore!

I have to admit that unless it’s embedded in my brain from some cosmic cryptoid, there is a very good chance that I will end up at the wrong address on the wrong date. Starting my evening out with all good intentions downtown, I found myself weighing through the gang of girls in too short dresses and fake-bake tans making their way to MeatPa events and who filled every taxi as I tried to head uptown. In the nick of time, I finally arrived at the Armani store.

But it was the wrong Armani store!
