It's red is reminiscent of a perfect pedicure. And, most important, its ticket price is throwaway chic as far as cars go.

This will be the first new product from the MINI brand since its inception in 1959.
MINI COOPER and MINI COOPER 'S' (a higher performance model) will go on sale in the US in March 2002 via a select group of existing dealers from BMW North America's retail network. Although pricing for the car has yet to be finalized, the MINI COOPER is likely to go on sale in the US below $18,000.
