What would be something totally cool that I could ask him to bring that not your typical girl from Kentucky would have? Scarf? Handbag? I just wanted to know what the

Paris Fashion Week: Aganovich Spring / Summer 2010

London Meets Paris: The odd mannequins and use of sculpture surrounding them gave the showing of the collection another dimension somewhere in between art and fashion. The Aganovich Spring / Summer 2010 Collection was artfully shown at a contemporary gallery in the trendy Marais section of Paris. What I love about the collection is the thoughtfulness and intelligence that went into each garment. A mix of fabrics such as pique and linen, and linen and satin are so smart and wearable. Looking closely I could see how well tailored every piece was and how the draping flowed so seamlessly. The presentation using odd mannequins and use of sculpture surrounding them gave the showing of the collection another dimension somewhere in

Retail Remedy: Venice Window Shopping, Italian Summer Style

Retail remedy, what's better then that, holiday or not? This entry is part 1 of 1 in the series Venice Window Shopping... Or, how I spent my summer vacation, Part Uno: The family and I (pooch included) were lollygagging about in Venice for a bit. In true Italian style– as I know it– everything is beautiful but doesn’t necessarily work as expected. The loft apartment we rented was amazing: Brand new renovation in an Old Venice building with a fab rooftop deck and view, super clean and modern Italian style with attention to every detail, except completion. Wow, that sounds like our construction projects sans the view! As the first renters after the total renovation we had the pleasure of

Richard’s Euroflash: Purple Reign, Italian Street Style

What They Are Wearing in Rome and Naples: During my recent jaunt to Italy, I couldn't help but notice that purple is the new black for Italians of all ages this season. The royal fashion color reigns supreme on everything from plaid lilac blouses to purple purses. In Rome and Naples, the moped ragazzi hit the street running in molto breve short skirts with purple leggings or tights showing a lot of thigh. Modified cowboy boots (Italians are known for their fabuluso take on Spaghetti Western boots), softened motorcycle boots, and the neo-classic Hogan â€~orthopedic chic' metallic oxfords are the hot footwear looks of the moment. The more casual Neapolitans are wearing low-slung jeans hugging the hips with wide belts
