Alix on the Go - Alix Kivlin is a graduate of the well known Fashion Institute of Technology and has been designing in the fast paced New York City for 9 years, creating collections for design companies such as Calvin Klein, Alice + Olivia, Ann Taylor, Mavi Jeans, Gap and Tommy Hilfiger to name a few.  Alix often extends her eye beyond contributing fashion editor and is photojournalist for most of her Fashion Week coverage. An avid world traveler, Alix trots the globe inspired by worldwide creativity, dressing and new lifestyles.  She has a high sense of style, a uniquely creative point of view, and a discerning eye when it comes to  the fashion real women want and feel confident in.

NY Fashion Week: Alvin Valley fashion show review

The words structured and romantic do sound like they belong in the same sentence, but Alvin Valley has changed that perception with a collection of supremely feminine dressing that is not only well tailored but involves pieced seams and cut outs. The black brocade fabric is something you may ordinarily see on a chair at your grandmother’s house, but it took on a whole new look at well fit pants and jumpsuits. Skirts and blouses had an overwhelming array of ruffles, but being solely on the blouse or the skirt it wasn’t too much, and the softness created a look of silk oragami. NY Fashion Week: Luca Luca fashion show review

Luca Luca - - Fall 2009 fashion collection… The high society soiree hopping woman reigned supreme here recession or not. As always very feminine with the look of the silverscreen, refined and classy. Fitting the show would be held at the Plaza Hotel, the Luca Luca girl would only be seen in such a lobby. The hair and make up almost stole the show, I couldn’t keep my eyes of the models faces - just beautiful!! Fresh skin and wide eyes, matte red lipstick in the color of absolute love and matching nails but not matte, instead quite shiny. This woman is a heart breaker. NY Fashion Week: Shelly Steffee fashion show review

Shelly Steffee - Fall 2009 fashion collection… A great mix of fabric textures and beautiful tailoring made for an impressive collection with a futuristic / equestrian feel. Well placed cut-outs to show off a woman’s decoltage, a beautifully draped jersey dress with braided fabric woven within the sweeping cowl, very well fit felt jacket with pleated latex shoulders and of course the of-the-moment peg shaped pant looking wearable on the mannequin - too bad that silhouette can be difficult for real people to pull off.
