No time for (much) makeup, try a matte red lip a la Marni FW13

Matte red lipstick for the love of color, a runway look you could STEAL right this minute…

I don’t know about you, but there sure are days for me when a quick swipe of makeup is just what I need to look alive. Crazy on the go days with no time for makeup and plenty of desire to glam it up and not scare children with a pasty looking face.

I’ve got a quick beauty solution. And, it’s a catwalk trend that is super affordable right now.

BTW: You also saw a red lip on almost c’est chic lady when we covered Paris Fashion Week street style , but now you can take the inspiration further from the catwalks of Marni and these super inspiring pics.

Nars Moscow is a rich matte red with an earthy undertone

Nars Moscow is a rich matte red with an earthy undertone- I’m probably wearing it as you read this :)

The Marni Fall 2013 collection was an alternative to the label’s vintage inspired prints with its neutral menswear fabrics in standard black and heavy grays. Gone were the bold patterns and chunky extras, even signature retro ornamentation was reduced to a fraction.

That kind of refinement called for make-up that was seductively feminine, but relaxed enough to create a cool edge you could try with any look.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Fabulous, of course. But what stood out?

Those red-hot matte lips!

A blurred, super matte red lip added a jolt of feminine flourish & low parted, undone, hair full of texture added a hint of 60′s era sex appeal… a gorgeous swipe  of red, undone hair, almost bare makeup otherwise, and easy-peasy chic.

Steal it… when you’re on the go. I suggest you try a similar beauty look, one that could take just seconds and makes you look oh so refined and pulled together. You may want to try applying a luminous powder to your cheek bones and quickly blot on a matte hue in a muted tone. Such an instant make-up routine sounds perfect for summer doesn’t it?

If you want to get on my red lipstick bandwagon, my personal red lipstick rotation includes Nars MoscowCollistar Rosetto Design Scarlotto #11 from Italy, Maybelline Very Cherry #635, and Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture 35 Rouge Vernis and Opium Red 131. Notice, I have a thing against red lip liner… makes my lips look too done for my face. I like the softer smudgy effect. Kinda like these models from Marni too.

Or, maybe from some of this red lipstick inspiration
