While in ChiTown for my Elle event, my agent and I took in a little window shopping— lucky for my credit cards that the stores were closed for the evening. Wow, there are some gorgeous clothes in this city that seems to have shortage of amazing shopping.

We like that. We really like that in a town.

While filming ‘Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America For The Purpose Of Making Heterosexual Males Visibly Uncomfortable In The Presence Of A Gay Foreigner In A Mesh T-Shirt‘ during Milan’s Fashion Week, comedian Sacha Baron Cohen stomped the runway of designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada’s fashion show.

No, the powers that be were not amused.

The Bruno character is an over-the-top Austrian fashionista who found his way backstage and then on the catwalk before he was ousted by security. According to The Huffington Post, Cohen did not have ID with him at the time of the scuffle.

Oh, well, bet it’s as funny as a bear in the back of an ice cream truck, and we mean that in a good way!

Can there be too much color in your fashion?

We spotted this fab-dressed girl on the street and could not take our eyes off her brilliant style.

How could you?

From top to toe, she has mastered the neon trend and certainly adds a punch of color to an otherwise dull day.

Unless you are extremely fashionably adroit, many of us can barely introduce one shot of color into an outfit, but this girl on the street has broken every archaic fashion rule to break our in eye-popping style.

But, we ask the question: Can there be too much color in your fashion?

Whenever I am away from NYC, no matter how amazing a place that my travels take me, I miss the grit, guts, and eclectic vibe that you can find when stepping outside your door. We all have a tendency to get caught up in the glamour and illusion of celebrity and the unobtainable. But instead, true style and insight turn up in so many different paths, that all you need to do is keep your eyes open and be aware of the style around you— that is where you can really find inspiration.

Graffiti is found art and found inspiration for me. It’s unexpectedness is always jarring, in a good way. Good graffiti comes from the soul of those in the area and leaves you thinking. In our new blog at FocusOnStyle.com, from time to time, we will explore street art and think of it as the muse backdrop for the incredible style that passes its way.

Old cliché aside, beauty is always in the eye of the beholder. I really don’t know if this is homage to the current Vanity Fair “Marilyn” issue or a sole graffiti artist (please comment if you do have a clue), but it is extraordinary.

All in the pop art style of Andy Warhol, we have Alfred Hitchcock holding a “Life is Beautiful” sign to the portraits of Larry King and Michael Jackson, both in a Marilyn Monroe wig.  Yes, life is very beautiful when you take things more than at face value!
