  • Buffalo Exchange Wants You to Shop to Save Wildlife for Earth Day

Spend a dollar, save an animal, look chic & cool!

Some of the coolest looking fashion types are seen hovering in and around the buy, sell, trade fashion resale shops, Buffalo Exchange.

It’s the fashion pack that has the kind of individualistic street style where you can’t quite name the designer or what season the piece is from, but the entire look is fierce and fabulous! It’s that true stylist look of mixing designer & vintage, high & low, classic & trendy.

No cookie-cutter looks, just unexpected fashion from a very unexpected place with some pretty major designer labels turning up too. You really never know what can materialize next– that’s the fun of it! Buffalo Exchange bills itself as sustainable company that works to protect the environment by reusing and recycling clothing– I look at it as a treasure trove of unexpected style!

Because thousands of wild animals are injured or killed every year because of carelessly discarded litter. Food containers become death traps when animals get their heads stuck inside, reaching for tasty residues at the bottom. Plastic floating on the water’s surface looks like food to sea turtles and other marine creatures. Shore birds and other animals become ensnared by fishing line and plastic six-pack rings.

By safely disposing of containers, wrappings, and other trash, you can help prevent these tragedies. Three of the wildlife care centers operated by The HSUS often treat wild animals with life-threatening injuries caused by discarded trash.

My local shop is in the East Village section of New York but there are shops across 14 states nationwide for you to check out for new and recycled fashion. Over several visits, I’ve snatched some Chloe sunglasses on my last visit and although not insanely cheap at $88, they are a fraction of their original cost. A fab Comme des Garçons sweater that looked like an old favorite of mine that I can no longer find in my closet came home with me on another Buffalo Exchange visit. The special $1 Save Wildlife from Trash day should be outstanding!
