Style tips to look cute in bad winter weather…

This week has been far from glamorous when it comes to dressing! With temperatures dropping to minus-degrees, we have had both snow and rain most of the week in Oslo. And even though I am dreaming of California weather, every day before I wake up and quickly realize I need to dig deep into my closet for warm and comfy clothes it becomes quite ok that the season is changing. In just a few weeks, I will start my Christmas-shopping. I will listen to Christmas carols while I search for the perfect dress for the Christmas parties in December.

However, despite of the colder weather I still manage to find some cute outfits to wear this week. So far, the black leather jacket has been my favorite this week - I think it is perfect for any outfit!

On Tuesday I went “crazy” and chose a colorful outfit, which you rarely see in Oslo in October (and also very unusual for me to wear). But I guess a bit of color can´t do any harm when the weather makes the scenery grey…

Do look at my outfit mash-ups and notice that I may be in Oslo but shopping can be very global with my favorite items from H&M, Marc Jacobs, Zara, Burberry, Levi’s, GAP, Benneton, and Mango… all are available in the United States! Barbie, America’s First Plastic Sweetheart Makes it Even Bigger at 50:

Madonna is not the only one who is fabulous at 50! My girl Barbie celebrates her fiftieth birthday and to kick up her heels, Barbie will have her own fashion show at New York Fashion Week this February!

Vogue.Uk reports that Mattel will embark on a three-year partnership with the Council of Fashion Designers of America from next February (the first toy company to do so) as well as sponsor New York’s IMG organised Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

It’s about time that Miss B hits the tents in style. “For many young girls, [Barbie is] their first association with fashion and dressing up and changing clothes,” Fern Mallis, senior vice president at IMG Fashion in New York, explained in the Vogue interview.

Barbie was certainly my introduction to playing fashionista! I can attest to proudly stockpiling 17 Barbie dolls in my collection and grew up as a feminist too!

My mom used to design custom ensembles for my Barbie dolls as gifts for special occasions. Please take notice of a favorite Barbie (pictured) who still rocks a spot in my office. Barbie models a golden hand knit sheath dress with matching hand knit coat and its luxurious brocade lining, custom made by mom… the camera is still around her neck, but the white pumps are MIA. You know I will be following this story.
