CinecittA Chic Italian Style: The voluptuous glamour of Frederico Fellini and Nine

The original 1963 film 8 1/2 starring Marcello Mastroianni from which the film NINE is based.

The film NINE will be in theaters this Thanksgiving and I’m obsessed…

I cannot take my mind off the lush gorgeousness of the Weinstein Company film trailer for “NINE” since I first saw it yesterday. The yet-to-be-released “Nine” is based on the 1982 Broadway musical “Nine” which is loosely based on the 1963 semi-autobiographical film “8 1/2” by Italian master Frederico Fellini about a man having a rather visually inspiring midlife crisis and the women in his life from mother to mistress to wife, and then some.

The film directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago) stars Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz, Judi Dench, Kate Hudson, Nicole Kidman, Sophia Loren, Fergie, and Daniel Day-Lewis in the lead as film director Guido Contini.

The trailer is mesmerizing, lush, brilliant, gorgeous, and a big buongornio to bone up on all that is wonderful and Italian.

Please watch…

Get your Cinecitta chic going with some vintage Italian style fashion inspired by the films of Frederico Fellini.

And, then revisit the great films. I bet you will be cooing Guiiiiiido in no time. Divertimento!
