Three G’s: Gwyneth, Goop and Grammy

Gwenyth Paltrow

I’m becoming a fan of Gwyneth Paltrow. It’s not that I didn’t admire the quality of her work before. More like I never really thought about it.

First, I started to love her on Mario Batali’s Spain… On the Road Again. It reminded me of days touring around Italy with friends. This is a TV road trip with Gwyneth along for the ride, not as an actor, but as a modern American woman with a developed culinary palette who also happens to be very cool and eats her way through Spain.

Then, there is Goop. Gwyneth’s lifestyle site and newsletter. We have Martha, Rachel, and now Gwyneth as an embodiment of a modern and edgy-enough guide to all things that we chat about with friends: food, wellness, fitness, parenting, and maybe a really nice watch. I have to admit that Goop can be quite addictive.

The Grammy Award’s red carpet known for its edge went trussed-up-fashion-doll-predictable. But not, Gwyneth. She hailed as the modern woman with her own sense of style in a golden Versace strapless mini, dark tights, perfect platforms, and flawlessly undone hair. She’s the star who looks real in a New York way.

BTW: While most were obsessing about the obvious wardrobe in Sex and the City last year, it was Gwyneth’s smart, classic, and chic wardrobe in Iron Man that would do you and your closet very well.
