Fashion Week Gossip- Oscar de Renta's Global Revolution draws on the Silk Road, Tinsley Mortimer at Robert Verdi's Luxe Laboratory and… The Genius Collection from Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig's Marchesa was truly overflowing with drama as a sure bet for the Red Carpet! Brad Boles is still terrorizing the town in fabulousness with his Blackberry…I'm sure that I love Oscar de la Renta as much as Sarah Jessica Parker does!He has drawn inspiration throughout the years from Morocco, India, and Paris in the 1920's. The fall 2011 Oscar de la Renta collection is every bit as glamorous as his previous iconic collections. Between the embellished jackets of gold bullion and sequined gowns, my source the "Debutante It Girl," was front row at the show and kept me and you in the loop via her cryptic texts.

In the Realm of the Fashion Senses

A REALM is a dominion of a monarch or other sovereign ruler. It is also happen to be the name of the new high fashion boutique that just opened in the heart of New York’s SOHO at 98 Greene Street by Randi Jacobson. The idea of the boutique came to Randi after being unable to get access to less known trendy designers that dwell outside of US.Jacobson decided to represent them in New York and establish her own REALM where she rules fashion. The store is spacious and eclectic. Last week there was an official opening fit to a queen: from the East there was Olga Rakhova a Russian supermodel, from the west Alexandra Richards, the daughter of one of the Stones named Keith, she provided the music for the party. Halloween Dog Costumes Are As Wild, Wooly, And Fantastic As Ever

You know that there is nothing we love more around here than a good dog costume and a fab parade and contest to show them off. It's that time of year again when New Yorkers put their best bark on and go a little experimental and zany in the name of their best friend.>> Try some ready made Pet CostumesThis weekend, the 20th Annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade in support of the First Run dog park in the East Village has its share of (un)usual suspects to steal the show all in the name of fun. The Master of Ceremonies was Snooki, see her below.Mom must admit that her boys pulled in a 1st place for their group for a total made-by-kid Robot Who Wrecks the City theme. I have to think that the poodle must have been a fit model in a former life from his his unbrideled patience for the decorating process.

David Elfin Spring 2011 Fashion Show, New York and Madrid is Crisp, Clean and Modern

Davidelfin cuts a mean pattern…And sticks to his guns too! The Spanish designer who shows both at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York and then at Cibeles Madrid Fashion Week is true to his architectural and somewhat austere design aesthetic. Davidelfin’s fine modern classic tailoring is best appreciated up close.Particularly in New York, where floaty fabrics and sandy colors reigned supreme, the Davidelfin spring collection was a jolt in the arm for the woman who just wanted to stick to her 90′s minimalist guns or whatever you want to call someone who prefers her clothing lean, clean, and mean.>> MORE: Fashion Shows and Runway ReviewsOne of my favorite dresses was the black gown pictured above and below at both the New York and Madrid show. The well-placed side cut-out hallmarked the geometic feel of the collection, yet the flowing skirt added the right touch of femininity and figure-flattering wearability that was also edgy and timelessly modern.

Fashion Week Roundup- Best of New York, Spring 2011

Naveed Hussain has been taking a breathe and pondering New York Fashion Week- not as piece by piece show, but what stood out above the NYFW fray and complexities of the week. — S.H.We’ve been doing a lot of whining at the pace and scale of fashion in this day and age of globalism and an unsteady economy.Fashion today has become a world-wide beast, it’s everywhere, and isn’t that a good thing? Shouldn’t this mean we are all sitting at home with a closet full of the best we can buy? Okay well, that is possible, but we think it’s coming at a great cost in the long run. Most importantly, there is too much fashion too fast.Fashion is now rotating on a two month scale and frankly, by the time the items hit the shelves, we cannot even remember them. There was a time when we could spot something a mile away and tell you it’s label.Today, we look at the calenders each season and cannot pronounce half of the names on it, and now you can supposedly buy fashion on the Home Shopping Network & at J.Crew. This was not possible ten years ago and it is still not today.>> MORE: Fashion Shows and Runway Reviews
