Paris Fashion Week: Aganovich Spring / Summer 2010

London Meets Paris: The odd mannequins and use of sculpture surrounding them gave the showing of the collection another dimension somewhere in between art and fashion. The Aganovich Spring / Summer 2010 Collection was artfully shown at a contemporary gallery in the trendy Marais section of Paris. What I love about the collection is the thoughtfulness and intelligence that went into each garment. A mix of fabrics such as pique and linen, and linen and satin are so smart and wearable. Looking closely I could see how well tailored every piece was and how the draping flowed so seamlessly. The presentation using odd mannequins and use of sculpture surrounding them gave the showing of the collection another dimension somewhere in

The How To Be A Chic Parisianista Series | 7 Steps to French Chic Maybe not wearing underwear with flower dresses in the heat is an English thing, but the French seem to have the opposite approach: wear it come rain or shine, hot or cold – no questions asked. Definitely wear it appreciatively, discreetly (not on the outside displayed for everyone!), beautifully, and above all - confidently. After all, you never know when you’re going to flash a French dad at the school fair like La Mom

My Love for Boys is very, very good…

In a Blonde Haze/My Love for Boys… The artist Vincent Gagliostro, our art director, my friend, and the one you want to blame for hiring me on my first stylist shoot a century ago, has collaborated with artist Susan Shup on a brilliant video art film called, "In a Blonde Haze/My Love for Boys.” The video’s title is based on a line from Le Livre Blanc by Cocteau, "as far back as I can remember and even at the age when the mind still has no power over the senses, I find traces of my love for boys".
