French Chic at a Certain Age: Man-Tailored Jackets in the way Ines de la Fressange works them

Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012 - Chanel
Oh la la... I'm shooting another segment for the C'es Chic Crash Course and so much is going on here on FoS. It's a triple threat for this week's Summer Spotlight of Ageless Style + highlights  from FocusOnStyle's Best of 15th Anniversary online, PLUS, Day Three of the three-part FoS series Ageless, Age-Appropriate French Chic At A Certain Age. Master this style: How to pull off classic man-tailored  jacket like Ines de la Fressange's tuxedo and school boy looks Wearing a jacket can get a bit tricky. If the jacket is too conservative, you just added 10 years to your appearance and, worse, the aura of being inflexible and boring (avoid anything

Shocking in Paris! Schiaparelli Haute Couture, why not?

I don't know about you, but my day certainly could use some fantasy, frivolousness, whimsy, and eccentric charm. Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week is generally a gorgeous snooze fest since Christian Lacroix no longer shows. But Marco Zanini in his second Schiaparelli Haute Couture foray for Fall/Winter 2014-15 embraces the flamboyant legacy of the designer who put shocking pink on the map. MORE: Runway We've got all the Schiaparelli couture photos here for you to drool over. Don't worry, none of us can probably ever afford these couture pieces, but we can't afford to not consider to add a little zing to our outfit. I'm loving the fashion flashback of the shocking pink palazzo pants, above, that remind me of a Norma Kamali

You really want to see this Dries Van Noten Paris Exhibition

First look at this Dries Van Noten Paris celebratory exhibition had me cheering for the designer’s novel approach to mixing bold prints, vivid colors, ethnic references and plays with textiles in ways that are fiercely modern. Let's see what Richard saw. –S.H. I went to see the newly launched Dries Van Noten exhibition last Thursday with a friend visiting from out of town who is into fashion (and who comes once a year to Paris to buy her clothes), so I thought she would enjoy taking in the inspirations too. The fashion exhibitions at Musée des Arts Decoratifs are studiously presented in a specially designated space. The atmosphere is almost like going to the theater: it’s pitch black except for

Le Coat: Channel French Chic Street Style with a red topper

I'll Have What She's Having: French Chic Street Style styling to add vivid color to your transitional look... Paris Fashion Week: Inside + Outside Nina Ricci Fall 2014

Nina Ricci Fall 2014 The Paris insider report: I attended the Nina Ricci  Fall 2014 show during Paris Fashion Week. Held once again at the giant tent in the Tuileries by place de la Concorde, the show was last Thursday at 5PM. Fashionistas outside Nina Ricci fall 2014 There were smash hits but equally as many doozies a.ka. "did you bother to look in the mirror before you left the house" looks.
