BCBG Max Azria Fashion Show Photos & Runway Review Spring 2013

BCBGMaxAzria Spring 2013 Runway Review: BCBG is famously known for their young, contemporary, and often color blocked party dresses, but this season strays a bit from this mold and I am not certain it was their best move.

Colors are more neutral and washed out and black casts a big shadow over this Spring 2013 line. No, not your usual brights and bold blocks of color covering the airy pleated chiffons and crepes. Not this season.

There’s a strong hint of Herve Leger influence, this could be expected as it’s the sister line to BCBG, but I prefer keeping them separate!

Don’t worry girls, not all is to be lost! Think sexier and edgier, closer fits, and fitted banding details (as seen in Herve Leger). There are some very sexy cut-outs and lots of lace. These will make stunning date dresses and chic downtown party dresses, but not best suited for your Spring weddings.

Go for the dresses with the pops of coral, the all over whites, and the peachy nudes; these will align more with Spring over all the black. There’s a very sleek tux jacket with leather lapel that makes a great layering piece, but again I think…Spring?! – Alix Kivlin
