Chado Ralph Rucci Runway Review: Ralph Rucci of Chado once again made a case for himself being the country’s most important other Ralph in the fashion game

Never one to follow the mandate for trends, one of America’s closest allies with the world of Haute Couture, Rucci centered his signature sculptural silhouettes around riotous shouts of unabashed color.

From ultra-deluxe fabric choices to meticulously crafted and conceived silhouettes, proportions and patterns, the maestro’s Midas touch was in full effect.

Perfect proportions that were uptown ladylike (in the least stuffy way possible) looked fresh in a range of shocking hues, but some of the most wearable options for the long run came in ivory.

Particularly stunning was a cocoon shape (a signature) topper that while boasting an architectural flair, came with sheer slices of panels for an ultra-mod note come Spring. Technique par excellence is a virtue chez Rucci, and with that a bevy of his devoted clientele were front & center taking notes while displaying the designer’s vision, glowing in his wares.

And while it was a remarkable outing, we missed the quiet pacing of his past efforts. This time a sprinted rush made for a short-lasting impression when detail is one of the most important elements of the house. Here at FoS, we need to Focus! Our on-hand editor wanted to share this with our friends at Chado:

From Alix Kivlin- ‘I was elated to attend your Spring 2013 collection and was very pleased with the intricate clothing and fantastic colors.

I was not so elated with the runway presentation, however.  You can keep the sweeping width, and the lacquer white runway isn’t so much of an issue.  But please, for the future, remove the back mirror and blindingly bright lighting.  I understand you are making a statement, but my retinas are burning.’
