Key Styling at Moncler Grenoble Fall 2013 : Inky rich colors in upper body silhouettes sophistcated enough to wear off the slopes, yet technilogically advanced enough to swwosh downhill.
The Moncler event in their words…
The mountains come to life in the impressive cupola of Gotham Hall.
Five rows, with steps that rise ten metres in height, cover the circular walls along which 370 male and female models wearing the Moncler Grenoble Autumn-Winter 2013/14 collection will line up, while a mirror hanging from the ceiling reflects kaleidoscopic repetitions of their images.
Only one colour, green, will dominate the scene in a variety of hues. It is the green of the trees that bring to life Alpine peaks where wind, sky, snow and ice reign supreme. They are extreme locations in which one can only survive purity by approaching it with respect – and by equipping oneself with the highest technology.
Moncler Grenoble, the men’s and women’s range designed to offer the utmost performance for skiing and après-ski wear, is celebrating a new high altitude ritual in the heart of Manhattan. In 2010, the newly-launched active segment challenged the harsh temperatures of Chelsea Piers. In 2011 it unleashed a full-fledged flashmob in the atrium of Grand Central Station, and in 2012 it went skating at night in Central Park.

2013 will see the majestic nature of forest mountains being taken into the city. These forests will be enveloping, protecting and transporting audiences into a parallel dimension in which visual repetition makes us recognisable while still cultivating our own interior and aesthetic diversity.
Style and performance. It is around this enduring combination that Moncler Grenoble creates high-end skiwear which can also be used for the city. Each garment is designed to resist even the harshest weather conditions, without forsaking its quest for elegance. Ultra-active membranes, excellent waterproofing and the highest standard of internal breathability are the basic characteristics of all the models. These are always completed by a wind flap, waxed zips, specific pockets for ski-passes and protective pockets for safe keeping sunglasses.
In addition to the shades of green proposed during the New York presentation, the latest novelty to be featured in the collection is provided by touches of brick and brown. They are new nuances for the sporting world and have been chosen to recreate the atmosphere of the forest, this season’s leitmotiv, even in the colours used. All the colours are limpid and bold.
For the women’s range, the new entry is a braid-effect fleece which maintains its thermal insulation properties intact while acquiring a highly sophisticated appearance. In terms of the materials, fur, pony skin and sheepskin make an appearance, combined with a nylon (included in the highly resistant satin version) and laminated wool fabrics with a sixties feel and sensual fit, given a new contemporary twist.
For the men’s range, the focus is on graphic symbols that combine traditional men’s prints such as tweed or micro dogtooth check with camouflage inserts or Nordic motifs.
In both the womenswear and menswear, the use of knitted fabrics is strategic; combined with the fleece, it creates the shell of refined and ultra light jackets.
