Runway Review: Timeless elegance for a woman of any age

The master of elegance, Naeem Khan masters his Spring 2012 collection with grace.

For absolute dress-up this line can suit a woman from 18-70, something wearable for all ages worn from cocktail parties to the red carpet. And we certainly can look forward to these gowns on the red carpet!

Every piece is hand crafted exquisitely with beading, sequins, feathers and fringe.

A signature detail being the back of each dress, a cut-out or drape to leave the on-looker with an afterthought and making this woman feel sexy while maintaining elegance.

The show opened with a dreamy print, something out of Alice in Wonderland, on a flowing caftan with beading around the neck and a chunky stone and enamel chain necklace; a dress to be coveted by every bohemian socialite.

My personal favorite was a strawberry red plunging v-neck gown covered in tiny sequins with a teardrop cut-out back styled with a chain necklace and oversized pendant.

I need a reason to have that dress!

What I hope to see on the red carpet is the bright pink bubble skirt and a fringe top – definitely a show stopper.

One reason for this line being so wearable for all ages is because there are varying degrees of coverage – strapless, long sleeve or off-shoulder, knee or floor length, sweetheart necklines or plunging v-necks – the young ones can show some skin with class while the grown woman feels modest and sexy.

And it's a genius of a man who can get that right for everyone. – Alix Kivlin
