David Elfin Spring 2011 Fashion Show, New York and Madrid is Crisp, Clean and Modern
Davidelfin cuts a mean pattern…And sticks to his guns too! The Spanish designer who shows both at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York and then at Cibeles Madrid Fashion Week is true to his architectural and somewhat austere design aesthetic. Davidelfin’s fine modern classic tailoring is best appreciated up close.Particularly in New York, where floaty fabrics and sandy colors reigned supreme, the Davidelfin spring collection was a jolt in the arm for the woman who just wanted to stick to her 90′s minimalist guns or whatever you want to call someone who prefers her clothing lean, clean, and mean.>> MORE: Fashion Shows and Runway ReviewsOne of my favorite dresses was the black gown pictured above and below at both the New York and Madrid show. The well-placed side cut-out hallmarked the geometic feel of the collection, yet the flowing skirt added the right touch of femininity and figure-flattering wearability that was also edgy and timelessly modern.

For inspiration we looked at Latin denim fashions, Italian diamonte and LA celebrity taste.To get a contemporary feel in the collection we have also worked with a cleaner, more fabric focused and minimalistic look. A combination of the exaggerated and the minimalistic creates the balance for S/S 2011.
