Lanvin for HM Official Video Look Book Looks Great

Cheap(er) Chic: It’s not a project that is a dress for less– Alber Elbaz, Artistic Director of Lanvin

We’ve got our hands on the official Lanvin H&M look and you will want to watch and covet!

Come November 23 Lanvin for H&M will hit in around 200 H&M stores worldwide with November 20 scheduled for lucky us in North America. But what’s more interesting is that this is not a super cheap chic H&M budget fashionta collab. Think of this gorgeous collection that marks a luxury debut for H&M at prices substantially lower than "real" luxury. Cheap(er)chic, if you will with many dresses and coats coming in at $199.

Alber Elbaz, artistic director of Lanvin explains, “H&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we couldtranslate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less. I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public.

This has been an exceptional exercise, where two companies at opposite poles can work together because we share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world.”

“What does luxury mean today? Can luxury be exclusive and democratic at the same time? How can we translate the essence of luxury to a wider audience?

The world around us is changing rapidly and I find myself asking these questions more and more. Designer’s work is usually tailored to a very small group of people, but the collection for H&M was about trying to translate the dream of luxury to the masses. It was almost like going back to school for me,” Alber Elbaz, artistic director of Lanvin.
