Runway Review: Prada, Celine, Chloe… yup, you guessed it!

As usual, our favorite collections from the Resort 2012 presentations come from the ladies we always look to for inspiration galore.

Here’s a look at what’s amping our shopping lists and making us think our wardrobes over.

Don’t forget to put some key accessories trends on your radar too… like Prada ladylike pointy pumps, a soft and easy beret, crisp clutch, and a modern take on an ascot. –N.H.

Miuccia Prada‘s kooky sixties era men’s collection with it’s nostalgic golf prints crossed over into her latest Resort outing and was cleverly mashed with all kinds of whimsical Prada-isms from her infamous lip prints to her love of studs and unexpected uses of lace, polka dots and wallpaper florals for off-kilter, out of this world looks like we’ve never seen before. And that’s one of the greatest joys of Prada; always a new reason to get you shopping for something you’ve never seen from anyone else.

Celine, Celine, Celine, what can we say, Pheobe Philo can do no wrong with her focused, right on the mark collections season after season. For Resort, her now signature polished leather and color-blocked separates made a welcome return with killer platform wedges, heritage Celine chain belts, bold florals and a louche fluidity thrown into her confident mix.

Hannah MacGibbon may have sadly departed one of our favorite labels at the height of her game, but lucky for us and the design team left in charge of piecing together the house’s latest offering, the seventies are still in the air and are going strong. That made for a bevy of flared pant suits, tricked out bow blouses and a frilly dresses in dreamy tones of coral, kelly green and teal, all with the house’s incomparable Left Bank appeal. — Naveed Hussain
