Cheap Chic Alert: Martin Margiela for H&M Sneak Peek
Cheap Chic fans rejoice as avant-garde pioneer Martin Margiela unveils a collection for H&M this fall…
That’s right, the mega-retailer is sure to have another crowd pleasing hit on their hands judging by first look at the just released lookbook images. Working more as a celebration or tutorial on house signatures, highlights from some of season’s past greatest hits are sure to bring about a buzzy, must-have energy soon enough. By the looks of it, this will definitely be one of the first collaborations to get us in line after a long time…

Of the lot, the peacoat (above) and many of the collections oversized pieces lifted from Margiela’s sensational late 90′s outing where the designer super-sized relaxed basics (he took say a classic navy blazer and made it 10+ times the size) are some of the coolest pieces we’ve ever seen come out of a high-low collaboration.

Up for grabs comes a witty trompe l’oiel nude bodysuit with contrasting bust from yet another hit collection. Although not for everyone, it makes for an ultra-cool and affordable statement maker. And paired with superbly cut oversized jeans and a clever ‘candy bar’ clutch, the look evokes much of the brand’s heritage with ease.
This red draped asymmetrical dress makes for a pretty alternative to traditional holiday dresses and looks rather comfortable to boot.
