What jeans to wear Spotlight Week! The Denim Pencil Skirt, Something to Reconsider

As the season on the calendar changes, the iffy weather may to exactly be a seasonal match. This installment of What Jeans To Wear Spotlight Week reviews a fantastic transitional wardrobe staple- the jeans skirt! Add a pair of tights + some ankle boots  and you’ll be good to go to transition to a nippy day in no time. – S.H.

If you’re not a shorts person or looking for something that’s perfectly styled for casual kickback style or city chic, look no further than a classic denim pencil skirt.

In distressed denim, white or a dark wash, the denim pencil skirt that once was a wardrobe staple is looking all so right again.

There are designer versions like the Victoria Beckham Denim Stretch Denim Pencil Skirt pictured above and less precious ones that you’d be more apt to wear to the beach, like the  Zara Ripped Denim Skirt at the top.

But, really it doesn’t matter.

When it comes to a denim skirt it’s more about the fit and how you style it rather than the price tag.

For us curvier girls, a little stretch is best. You might want to try styles that are a bit more A-line than pencil straight for less hug around the tush.

The most universal hemline hits somewhere above or below the best part of your knee. You can add a cropped mini or even a maxi denim skirt to broaden you skirt wardrobe.

Dress it up with a pair of sexy heels or dress it down with chunky heel flat sandals, both pictured above. I’m always a sucker for a denim skirts worn with espadrilles or take advantage of the comfort shoe trend.

Add a classic cut topper or a weekend white T, you’re good to go with almost anything you style this with.

I’m going in the back end of my closet to try on my collection of denim skirts through the years. If the fit isn’t quite right any more, there are plenty of new ones out there to update with.
