Highlights from the Best of Pre-Fall 2012, Celine, Givenchy and more

By the looks of the collections we’ve seen so far from some of our favorite go-to labels, Pre-Fall seems to be about a continuation of key-trends and trademarks with a fresh, indulgent spin.

Here’s a quick look at some of our favorite HIGH F-A-S-H-I-O-N highlights from the season so far…there’s more to come as we look at the best of the season next week.

Givenchy (above).

Celine-

Phoebe Philo added some refined tweaks to her repertoire and returned with another bevy of untouchable minimalist must-haves.

Stella McCartney-

Playful embroideries and graphic knits made for a covetable mix of smart options from fashion’s coolest wonder women.

Nina Ricci-

Another ultra-femme, ultra-luxe ode to deshabillé Victoriana fit for just about any princess or those just looking for something sublimely sweet.

Carven-

Retro-minded schoolgirl chic made for another winning outing from Carven.

Derek Lam-

New York’s king of deluxe sporty chic was back with a collection full of glorious, unexpected color ways in a deliciously off-key palette.

The Row-

Concise, articulated silhouettes and fabrications are The Row’s calling cards and Pre-Fall was right on track.

Sonia Rykiel-

Flirty Parisian glamor is de riguer chez Rykiel and Pre-Fall’s color-blocked updates to the label’s codes made for a refreshing update to what we’ve come to expect from such a tried-and-true label.

Theyskens’ Theory-

While we’ve been keen on the returns of ladylike dressing and minimalism over the past few seasons, there’s no denying the mega-cool factor that Olivier Theyskens has brought with him at Theory, making it one of the only collections out there boasting enough street-cred for us to consider crossing over the divide for. -Naveed Hussain
