Are dresses really the new denim? NY Fashion Week what to wear– there are sighting of on-trend premium denim, particularly seen at the week’s celebrity money shot– Maggie Gyllenhaal, Hillary Swank, and Demi Moore sitting front row at the trendsetting Miss Sixty show. While the web is all a flutter with bloginas feverishly throwing up their Spring 08 New York Mercedes Benz Fashion Week forecasts, I thought you might want to know what to wear right now.

Seasons past, a good chunk of the fashion crowd had a thousand and one ways to doll up a pair of jeans. This Fashion Week, dresses are the NEW jeans when it comes to the style savants.

Barely a pair of jeans in sight, save for a few weekend warriors, myself included, who chose to take a day off from the abundance of pretty and chic dresses which abound. High heel booties or super sexy platforms – either Mary Jane or oxfords, finish off this season’s very hot and polished dress trend.

But there are sighting of on-trend premium denim, particularly seen at the week’s celebrity money shot– Maggie Gyllenhaal, Hillary Swank, and Demi Moore sitting front row at the trendsetting Miss Sixty show, alongside Clive Owen (he has nothing to do with this story, except who can resist a great piece of man candy?). Maggie and Hillary looked fantastic in their slim jeans worn with birks and heels, respectively. But I couldn’t take my eyes off Demi and her amazing legs in that sexy wrap dress!

The Andy Warhol film, Chelsea Girls was the Miss Sixty collection’s pop design inspiration (fashion show photo coverage later) which featured very wearable and sexy high waist structured silhouettes blended with breezy fabrics, combined with Victoria Bartlet’s styling, I think we can bring sexy jeans back!

Another glam and gorgeous brunette, Anne Hathaway looked elegant and modern arriving at the Angel Devil show styled by Patricia Field — big sunglasses, great shoes, and to-die-for fitting slim jeans… a look worth coveting that’s easy to pull together at home.
