Ageless Style Week- Why dressing age-appropriate is usually bunch of malarky and looking ageless is genius

This week’s Summer Spotlight is Ageless Style…

I’ll Have What She’s Having: What the heck is dressing age-appropriate anyway when Ageless Glamour rocks it out of the house!

Have you seen Sandra Bullock, Christie Brinkley, Raquel Welch lately?

Really, they are hard to miss.

Sandra Bullock is 49 and promoting Gravity, something she is surely defeating.

Christie Brinkley is on the talk show circuit for “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit: 50 Years of Beautiful.” She is beautiful and 59.

Heidi Klum (not too bad herself) wore the same leopard Dolce & Gabbana dress that Raquel Welch wore months ago, and  ‘who wore it better’ tabloid posts are all over Raquel as the winner. Oh, yeah, she’s 73.

Ok, I’m probably going to get some flack from this. I can hear the nay-sayers mumbling that “they” are rich and can do anything to keep their appearances, But, that’s a bunch of excuses.

Taking care of yourself is a daily deal you make with yourself. You can decide to fall prey to chenille sweaters and stretchy, shapeless pants or you can rock what YOU’VE got out of the house.

It’s not easy. I know. I’m not exactly thrilled with how I look when things slide. It’s frustrating when hard work doesn’t always pan out as you’d like. But I work at it (almost) every day to not look like Edith Bunker. I ASPIRE to be the best me I can be at the moment. So, can you.

Once you trap yourself in the geezer ghetto you end up looking older & duller. Feh.

I’m not saying that you should style yourself like a kid, I’m saying that you rock what you’ve got with sophisticated élan.

That’s the thing, looking ageless is looking great. Period. It’s nothing to do with the year we were born.

We’ve got body conscious and mini looks on the gorgeous ladies above. BUT, they aren’t overly revealing or juvenile. They are just right for a woman of any age.

Don’t give in to dowdy. Defy the nay-sayers.

You can be the best you can and make the most of what you’ve got, if you open your mind and make the effort to let the possibly happen. Stay gorgeous!
