It’s easy to make a frothy dress look glam. Pile on the fabric, cinch in the waist, add some glimmer and the princess is good to go. But when it comes to sophisticated chic, a well-cut dress with strong lines is stunning beyond compare without wearing the wearer.
Rooney Mara in perfect black Nina Ricci that she described to E! as being “comfortable and simple” is one of the most spectacular looks on the red carpet that we’ve seen in a while. Well, except for the last time Rooney was on the red carpet. The actress sported a simple pony tail, smoky eyes, pale skin, and nude lip to perfectly compliment the graphic cut of her black, edgy yet chic, gown.

An early arrival for Claire Danes meant lot’s of photo ops but also the chance to get forgotten in the fray. No such thing! Her simple J. Mendel black dress with cream bodice and unexpected cutout back has the exact amount of embellished allure to keep it looking timeless and magnificent.
