Valentine’s Day in France isn’t as big a phenomenon as it is in the U.S., where people go all out to express their love. France does it on a much smaller and subtler scale. The chocolate shops don’t have massive displays of chocolates in their windows, just a small selection with Valentine’s motifs on them and flower shops hardly have any fanfare about Valentines Day.

However walking on the rue St. Honoré and around Place de la Madeleine the other day I did find some gaily decorated windows commemorating Valentine’s Day.
