House of Dior Homage Exhibition for Paris Fashion Week
Retail Remedy: Le Bon Marché in Paris showcases the Eternellement Dior
We know how much Richard Nahem loves the Paris that he shares in his walking tours, and he will be tipping FocusOnStyle during Paris Fashion Week.
Designer John Galliano has been certainly in the news this week for his rather horrific alleged comments caught on a cell phone video. I’ve been interviewed a bit for my opinion on this and, based on what I have seen thus far, personally support the House of Dior in its termination of the designer as its creative director in the wake of this situation. You can see the video on The Sun, here.
Le Bon Marche Rive Gauche, a major Parisian department store pays homage to the heritage to the legendary Christian Dior fashion house with its
Eternellement Dior (Eternally Dior) exhibition on its 2nd floor.
The exhibition, produced by Alexandre de Betak opened on February 26 and runs through March 26th.
It spans the realm of all that is Dior, from its early ground-breaking couture silhouettes to a giant bottle of its J’Adore perfume… you know its sexy commercials with Charlize Theron. I’ll let Richard share the rest. –S.H.
Amidst the firestorm of the John Galliano scandal this week, there’s a terrific homage to the house of Dior is at Le Bon Marché department store to temper the fire.

Eternellement Dior is a testament to the power the Dior brand has had on fashion for over 50 years.
Vitrines with white neon lightening showcase the iconic looks
One can see the subtle differences between the elegant and iconic designs that Christian Dior originated in the 1940′s and 1950′s and how they evolved into a more flamboyant style that John Galliano brought to the house in the last 15 years.
A clever display of Dior boxes in their signature gray are piled to the ceiling in the center of the exhibit. Some have built-in video screens showing ads and films of Dior products.
There are also some whimsical touches to the exhibition like a floor-to-ceiling J’Adore perfume bottle with images of actress Charlize Theron emblazoned on it and a gigantic replica of the Dior chair with a shimmery gold purse on it.
