If anyone needs further proof as to how much Italian men love women, look no further than this:
Rome’s mayor, Gianni Alemanno acknowledges that the historic cobblestone city streets destroy high heels and “has announced plans to begin a makeover on Via del Corso, one of Rome’s central (shopping) streets.
The plan is to smooth the sidewalks and roads to make walking along them less dangerous ‘especially for women in heels,’ reports ItalyMag, with Via del Teatro Marcello, Via Petroselli, and Piazza Bocca della Verità to follow in the re-paving as reported in The Daily Mail.
Of course, we can all still have our fantasies of driving around Rome with Marcello Mastroianni a la La Dolce Vita but our Gucci heels will be all the more grateful.
