Sharon's Tip #35

Shoes need to both look good and be comfortable-- one cannot have the other.

Wheels, Italian style...

Vespa Motor Scooter Rides Again

There's something classically cool about the films of the fifties to early sixties.

La Dolce Vita - directed by Federico Fellini, starring Marcello Mastroianni and Anita Ekberg
Roman Holiday- directed by Billy Wilder and starring Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn
The World of Suzie Wong- directed by Richard Quine, starring William Holden and Nancy Kwan
An American in Paris - directed by Vincente Minnelli, starring Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron
L'Avventura - directed by Michelangelo Antonioni, starring Gabriele Ferzetti and Monica Vitti

It all seemed so stylized and elegant. Perhaps, because they were bitten by the bug!

No, not some perky parasite! The Vespa (Italian for wasp) Motor Scooter was featured in each flick.

The Euro way to buzz around town or country disappeared from the American scene for 15 years. But now, the Italian motorscooter is back and the perfect vroom vroom style staple to get around in for summer.

The Vespa ET2 and ET4 are available in nine groovy colors-- including the retro pale green and claim to be nearly as intuitive to ride as a bicycle. Perhaps that's why Lenny Kravitz, Marc Antony, and Lauren Holly are members of the Vespa Owners Club.

Or, maybe it's because these scooters are just so darn irresistible! Avanti, amore!
