I’ll Have What She’s Having: Pretty, polished, and casual at any age.
We all get so wrapped up on the fantasy of fabulous sometimes that we tend to forget the simple casual style that most of us wear on a daily basis.
For that very reason of feigning “senior moments” on everyday style does that core easy part of our wardrobe get forgotten, particularly when looking polished, modern and age-appropriate fashion is on the menu.
Let’s look at Susan Sarandon and what she wore to a director talk at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. Face it, there’s nothing monumental about her outfit, but there is something fantastic: she looks beautiful.

Proving that it is possible to look polished and casual, Sarandon wears a simple knit parka, slim jeans, modern yet slightly geeky glasses with an updated touch of cat-eye , and the dash of menswear inspired black and white spectator Oxford flats add the style punch.
Men’s lace-up are both on trend and comfy while adding the spunk needed to carry otherwise nonplussed –yet well-fitting– basics out of the park with style. The same outfit with run of the mill schlumpy slip-ones (come on, YOU know who you are) would look mumsy and frumpy.
So ladies, toss the cushy sole loafers for good and get yourself a flat with some personality!
