Black is the new black as the runway trend you want to covet.

But, if you are like me, your wardrobe is brimming with better than basic black pieces. So, here’s so the 411 on how to have next season, right from your closet.

With the last leg of the Spring 2013 shows winding down in Paris comes a look at top trends for next season to get you on track for the Fall season ahead.

Take a cue from one of the Spring’s strongest trends, a return to the ever versatile basic black. That’s right, after seeing prints and vivid hues of all types all over the runways as of late, Spring saw designers working to eliminate the excess by opting for the palette cleansing shade.

Yes, oddly enough for a time of the year often associated with lighter options, Heidi Slimane’s black packed debut at Saint Laurent to Chloe to almost every designer -the suggestion of black was on the rise.

And although we never gave up wearing black (who would?), it does make for a more reasonable trend than the suggestion of wearing say, printed pants or clashing prints. Not to say that we’d give those up just yet, either.

Might we add that this trend couldn’t come at a better time just as we approach the Fall season’s omnipresent darker options. Ones that when in the right silhouette are certain to become closet constants.
