Runway Review: This outing highlighted Louie's knack for creating clothes that are distinctive yet grounded in reality Amidst a fun & energetic Friday at Milk Studios with stellar presentations everywhere you turned, Julian Louie's short film screening of Ukrainian model Jules Mordovets was set in a serene if not hyper-bourgeois setting, complete with a mannequin resting on a gilt settee in full-on Charles James inspired regalia. Were we in for heavy and baroque from a designer that's been working laid-back sophistication with an uncompromising ease and cool hand?
