Color Trend: Blue from Blueberry to Cobalt

Fashion is getting a case of the blues… Rebecca Taylor – Mercedes Benz Fashion Week NY – Sp 09 fashion showSay goodbye to the plum and hello to the blueberry! The color of the moment is rich, fabulous cobalt blue seen on the likes of Beyonce on Vogue’s April cover to fashionistas on the street. We first saw it come up during award season when Freida Pinto wore a striking John Galliano gown. What is so great about this shade is that it compliments a wide array of skin types. Whether you’re a pale skinned red-head or an olive toned brunette, you’re sure to look fabulous in this eye-catching color. Marc by Marc Jacobs Colorblock Dress Right now you can find clothing, shoes, and accessories in a shade of blueberry which is great for those of you who aren’t as daring with color. For those of you who don’t shy away from color, I recommend a signature piece such

Hometown Style: The 90′s Are Back in Los Angeles, fashion that is!

Volcom Does Not Disappoint …Volcom loves the 90′s There™s a breath of fresh air to the LA scene thanks to the true fashion feast in store at the launch of Volcama™s new denim collection, The event was held at the LA Volcom store and hosted by NYLON Magazine. The looks were a combination of 90′s grunge and 50′s greaser with tomboy pieces mixed in. My favorite pieces had to be the shoulder studded jean vest, the cream studded motorcycle jacket, and of course the tie-dye skinnys.Stud details were everywhere from jackets, to jeans, to shoes and really added that tough ‘Tank Girl’ vibe. Colored denim also made a huge appearance with cropped vintage wash vests and lightweight striped skinny jeans. The denim was super lightweight, soft, and featured great details such as tilted pockets and intricate stitching. While the clothes were amazing on their own, stylist Dani Stahl really brought these looks together. Pairing them with in-your-face jewelry by Noir and combining plaids with florals with tie dye. There were also a few Holiday pieces in the mix such as the sequined slouchy beret that I already have on my shopping list.Stylist Dani StahlWhat I also found to be so great was the combination of slouchy boyfriend shirts and cardigans with the many fitted sheer printed tees. This past year, the shredded legging was in and Volcom one-upped that with the shredded jean. Super distressed and super tight, I can see these on fashionistas from East to West.Volcom also decided to bring back the overall with a short cuffed version. A little bit tomboy and a little bit sexy make me rethink the idea that overalls were meant for the fashionably challenged.Another big hit was the boyfriend cardigan with a grey and lime checkerboard print, truly a show-stopper. For those of you who
