Sassy Casual? What to wear to a wedding when the dress request is confusing…

Sassy Casual, what in the world does that mean? I've been invited to a wedding and the dress code is "sassy casual." The 5:00PM wedding takes place in a fancy hotel in Southern California in October. The invitation says that no children are allowed. What in the world do I wear? Got me! It sounds like the party planners are trying their darndest to out cute themselves with some convoluted and hokey wedding dress code that needs a bit of decoding. The effort may be for some good ‘ol fun but the wording sounds truly confusing to me.When in doubt about what to wear to a wedding-- and not feel like a fish out of water-- it is always best

In Style- turn essential elements on how to update khaki pants Dear Sharon: I am an elementary Guidance Counselor. I struggle between being comfortable working with small children and looking professional for meetings. I like wearing khakis, loafers and a shirt, sweater or blazer daily. I would like to wear khakis everyday with different tops. Is this look too boring or uniform like?  Please tell me if there is anything I can do about my smelly sandals! I don't know what to clean them with to get the odor out. Hair Color Tips for Men…

Hair Color Tips for Men... Real Men Get Dye Jobs Dear Sharon: I'm into my 30's and my hair color is starting to look a little murky. I'm in a creative business where you are judged by your appearance and need to keep up with the young guys. I know it's cool for men to color their hair, but I'm still timid to visit a salon and get my hair colored. I wouldn't even know what kind of salon or barber to go to for starters… it would seem weird to go to the same hair colorist as my girlfriend. I'm willing to try something different, but I guess, I need the encouragement to take the plunge. --Color Me Manly (Philadelphia,

LOOK BETTER FOR LESS…

Dress Tips for a Meager Budget Inexpensive clothing, for the most part but not always, lacks the quality and workmanship of a better priced garment. I'm not telling you to spend money you don't have, I'm telling you to shop discriminatingly. There are certain thrifty things that you can get away with. Natural fibers like cotton and some wool can stand up to the scrutiny of a cheaper price tag. But be careful of color and sizing. White is usually OK across the price board, but typically the buttons and seaming don't pass muster. If the seams are skinny and ragged, forget it, there is nothing to do. But if the buttons are cruddy, just replace them with better buttons.
