Jenny Packham Spring 2013 Runway Review: An elegant array of all things sparkling and shimmering made their way out on to the mirrored runway for Jenny Packham's Spring 2013 collection of gowns, sheaths, and an occasional dressy suiting. The rhinestones, beading, and sequins were overwhelming but graceful due to their being paired with soft neutrals and faded sorbet colors. >> MORE: FASHION SHOWS AND RUNWAY REVIEWS  For an evening event, anything formal, this woman is who to turn to as the entire collection has something catering to every age and taste level whether you want to show extra skin, extra shimmer, and a splash of color, or if you prefer more tasteful coverage, smaller beaded panels, and a warm shade of grey. >>MORE: Jenny Packham

DL1961 Denim Spring 2013

DL1961 Denim Spring 2013 Runway Review: The DL1961 Denim To Make Your Next Cult We all have our denim brands we are devoted to and follow like it's their last world tour, which I commend and adhere to myself (I am devoted to AG, Rag & Bone, and Lucky Brand - period), but I dare I say, there is a new (fairly new) denim cult to follow, and it's DL1961.  It's as simple as this: it's all in the fit.  For those curve-a-licious girls in particular, this is THE brand for you.  On that note, I would say for those without any hips and an ass, this may not be your spiritual denim calling. >> MORE: FASHION SHOWS AND RUNWAY REVIEWS  DL1961 more or

Zero + Maria Cornejo Spring 2013
Zero + Maria Cornejo Spring 2013 Zero + Maria Cornejo Spring 2013 Runway Review: The Zero + Maria Cornejo Spring 2013 line is a mix of structure and draped slouch, with a very modern edge, and dark, some seemingly Autumnal colors - with a final splash of bright white. Zero + Maria Cornejo Spring 2013 Cornejo keeps up the scuba-meets-day-wear trend, and showcases asymmetrical, slouchy dresses in bold graffiti-esque prints. >> MORE: FASHION SHOWS AND RUNWAY REVIEWS I am particularly in love with the scuba material and curved structure it adds to the line with the variety of jackets and dresses; very particularly the zip front tube dress - incredibly sexy. There are layering pieces a plenty with vests, cropped leather, and soft bombers. Zero

Chado Ralph Rucci Spring 2013
Chado Ralph Rucci Spring 2013 Chado Ralph Rucci Runway Review: Ralph Rucci of Chado once again made a case for himself being the country's most important other Ralph in the fashion game Never one to follow the mandate for trends, one of America's closest allies with the world of Haute Couture, Rucci centered his signature sculptural silhouettes around riotous shouts of unabashed color. >> MORE: FASHION SHOWS AND RUNWAY REVIEWS From ultra-deluxe fabric choices to meticulously crafted and conceived silhouettes, proportions and patterns, the maestro's Midas touch was in full effect. Perfect proportions that were uptown ladylike (in the least stuffy way possible) looked fresh in a range of shocking hues, but some of the most wearable options for the long run came in

It didn't look heavy… which made for a pitch-perfect duet. Elegance

Tracy Reese Spring 2013 Vibrant Color In Strong Yet Feminine Silhouettes

Tracy Reese Spring 2013 Runway Review: A confident urban woman will be pleased to be wearing the colorful new Tracy Reese collection come Spring 2013. DVF Spring 2013 Runway Review: The queen of iconic, feminine, ready to wear is back!  Diane Von Furstenberg unleases her bold Spring 2013 collection and takes it up a notch by introducing Google's Project Glass eyewear as the newest techy accessory. Project Glass uses technology to stream information to your eyes, rather than onto a screen of a phone, and pairing one of these uber-tech shades with your colorful DVF shift dresses takes on some bizarre Minority Report meets 5th Avenue edge. >> MORE: FASHION SHOWS AND RUNWAY REVIEWS Back to the clothes!  The classic wrap dress takes a back seat in the line to colorblocked shift dresses and soft pants.  Dropped lapel jackets in an array of colors, some with metal beading, other

Rebecca Minkoff Spring 2013 Runway Review:  "I want to be on a Bali vacation!". MM6 Maison Martin Margiela Spring 2013 True To Its Avant-Garde Ease

MM6 Maison Martin Margiela Spring 2013
MM6 Maison Martin Margiela Spring 2013 Runway Review: The ♀ Another vision of Maison Martin Margiela is billed as a take on femininity, but from this house one will never expect feminine to be defined as girlish naivety but rather clean, yet ironic pieces for a woman with a more big city style sensibility who craves some edge in her everyday pieces. >> MORE: FASHION SHOWS AND RUNWAY REVIEWS Truth be told, I wear A LOT from the Martin Margiela brand. Either the more conservatively priced and casual MM6 Maison Martin Margiela line, or the signature Masion Martin Margiela collection (the boots are my personal obsession). Helmut Lang, A Mastery of Minimalism Continues for Spring 2013

helmut lang spring 2013
Helmut Lang spring 2013 Runway Review: Helmut Lang never ceases to impress with clean lines, impeccable seaming, that mod-boxy shaping, and techy textures.  And so again we have those very elements for the Spring 2013 collection. Here's the big "is-this-really-Helmut-Lang" factor: kaleidoscope floral prints and brocades!  Yes, it's a fact.  I am not sure how I feel about that element of the collection - the prints are executed well on stiff, sheen poly/nylon, and certainly are more modern versus girlie, it's just so un-Helmut.  The bright orange thrown in is a fabulous pop, the pale blue is not so hot, and the shoes are killer.  This collection will be a go-to for layering jackets...isn't it always?! >> MORE: FASHION SHOWS AND RUNWAY REVIEWS Helmut Lang spring 2013
