The Joy of Fashion: Good Fun, and Art in the Mix

“Fashion’s Night Out- Downtown fashion and art scene… Last night was Vogue’s “Fashion’s Night Out,” a city-wide shopping event with hundreds of shops staying open til 11pm, providing music & cocktails to not only get customers motivated to shop, but to also remind them of the joy of fashion itself. And with the state of today’s economy, it was a rather refreshing and well-planned initiative to get people excited.I didn’t personally see many cash registers buzzing, but what I did love was the communal air it gave the city of New York, where the streets were filled with well suited crowds of people, all out for a good time and a good cause. After spending the early morning & afternoon engulfed in the world of fashion with Mercedes Benz Fashion Week at Bryant Park,”

Fashion’s Night Out from Giorgio Armani to Brad Boles

“The fabulousness never ends…Brad and Sharon having no shame taking their own photo at Valentino Dear Diary: Fashion’s Night Out started out as a must-see stop for me at the Giorgio Armani boutique to hear a special reading by Rosie O’Donnell from “Love, Loss, and What I Wore,” a new play by Nora Ephron and Della Ephron, based on the book by Ilene Beckerman. The evening instead turned into my own version of loving, loss, and what I wore!As I’m trying to find a cab (again), who comes trotting by but Brad Boles?! You may know him from the “The Real Housewives of New York.” But Brad and I go way back.Once upon a time a million and a half years ago when I was a fashion stylist, Brad and I would be booked as a team. I was the stylist, he did makeup, and North Rebis did hair when Brad didn’t do both. There was cast of other fashionable characters too who you probably know, but we’ll save that for another time. There was also lot’s of hijinks on the set and super fun nights out with some rather hilarious photos to prove it. Luckily, the bewigged photo of Brad and I here was from the excuse of a rather glamorous Halloween circa 1985.”
