Top Trends from Milan Fall/Winter 2012 Menswear

While it's true that menswear has only so much room to change each season, there was still a refreshing assortment of new ideas for Fall 2012 -here's a look at some top trends that caught our eye in Milan. Animal Novelty Prints- Andrea Pompilio Burberry Animal print motifs have been popping up in some of the best women's collections recently so it comes as no surprise that they crept their way into the men's shows this season in a myriad of ways and sizes. At Jil Sander's (top photo) wickedly fierce show they even managed to add a much need addition of surprising levity while at Burberry they had an almost childish, cartoon-like appeal. >>SHOP: MEN’S STYLE GUIDE TO EVERYDAY CHIC Updated

Tilda Swinton in Jil Sander Spring 2012

Raf Simons and his team at Jil Sander designed all of the costumes for Swinton's character in the movie, which will be released in Japan on December 23. Photo & source: WWD
Just as Tokyo Fashion Week comes to an end pops-up Tilda Swinton in a deliciously discrete and beautifully envisioned minimal blue knee-length Jil Sander dress from the house's recent Spring 2012 runway collection. According to WWD, "Raf Simons and his team at Jil Sander designed all of the costumes for Swinton's character in the movie 'I Am Love,' which will be released in Japan on December 23." It comes as no surprise as Swinton, the queen startlet of embracing fashion's changing winds, continues to break the mold of banal red carpet dressing with wardrobe choices that not only display her keen eye for avant-garde minded fashion but also manage to deliver a controlled message of high-design meets approachable, confident elegance. The final +J Collection from UNIQLO and Jil Sander

After several successful seasons collaborating with Uniqlo, Jil Sander's +J collection for the Japanese fast fashion giant is unfortunately ending this season. Word is that a Uniqlo collabo with Undercover is up next, which of course we can't wait to get our hands on (we love Undercover), however, we've also been diehard fans of the +J range for its minimal techno separates that harkened back to Jil's own days at her eponymous label. And while her namesake label is thriving in the hands of Raf Simons, Jil's return on the scene with Uniqlo produced what we consider to be one of the greatest collaborations of all time. This season is the last time we'll all be able to score covetable

Best of Milan Fashion Week- D&G, Jil Sander, Moschino, Prada – Spring 2012

As per usual, from New York collections one can expect pragmatic sportswear(the kind that doesn't often reinvent the wheel, maybe just spins it), from London one can expect out-of-this-world, well executed propositions and from Milan; riotous colors, bold adornments and brilliant uses of technological advancements in fabrications. And with that being said, Milanese designers did not disappoint. We saw a large variety of finessed, retro-inspired options full of energy, enticing plays on print and a generous dose of giddy sex appeal. Here's a look at our favorite outings from the season in Milan. Jil Sander Navy Spring 2012 Fashion Presentation

Jil Sander Navy Spring 2012
Runway Review Snippet... Platform brogues punctuated a youthful, tomboyish and relaxed spirit from an otherwise characteristically utilitarian outing from Jil Sander's secondary line, Jil Sander Navy. >> MORE: FASHION SHOWS AND RUNWAY REVIEWS While knife-pleated skirts and prim blouses made for a bulk of the collection, the real draw to the range came via a subversive and vaguely military ode to Girl Scouts and to uniform dressing as a whole. And just like Jil Sander's main line, there were plenty of smart separates with universal appeal and a slight jolt of the unexpected that were anything but timely to get you retooling your wardrobe.  --Naveed Hussain SHOP Jill Sander Navy in store now: More Jil Sander...

Oversharing with dtripazcorazon- Interview with Sharon Haver: Founder and Editor in Chief FocusOnStyle.com

More than you need to know about me... well, sort of... Very cool interview with dtripazcorazon... bet there are some things that you never knew... ---------- Name: Sharon Haver Website: FocusOnStyle.com Education Business degree. Marketing major. Minor in law & some abnormal psych. I became a stylist: When an art director hired me for a 3-week shoot in St. Maarten. Upon my return to New York, word got out and photographers kept hiring me as a stylist. I upped my day rate ten-fold! I guess being a stylist pursued me rather than my pursuing it as a career. I worked steadily as a stylist for 15 years! At the moment: Renovation and home design is a hobby of sorts. There

Men’s Style- Best of Menswear Fall 2011 Runway, The Avant Gardes

Runway Review: Dries Van Noten, Jil Sander, Alexander McQueen, Marni, Miharayasuhiro When it comes to men's style, there are two schools on the runway- the classics and the risk takers. We've shown you some of my favorite mens fashion shows from Europe from John Varvatos (the personal favorite for my hubby) , Louis Vuitton, Burberry Prorsum, Emporio Armani, Giorgio Armani, and even some super funk by way of Lady Gaga at Mugler. Then, there are the fashion risk takers. The men's fashion that has a bit more edge than the average guy can pull off, but plenty of style for those up to taking the chance! Cheap Monday is Really Cheap Chic- An Affordable Designer Brand To Wear

Affordable fashion Alert: Love the Spring 2011 collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Stockholm & I'm wearing it now- so should you! Forget cheesy fast fashion, get designer style at an affordable price... Ironic, but true, as I'm reviewing runway photos from the Cheap Monday Spring 2011 collection that just showed at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Stockholm, I'm wearing a Cheap Monday T-shirt. Yes, I'm attempting to be on vacation and more casual, but even some of my more urban everyday outfits involve some Cheap Monday. I probably buy a handful of their things every season and they inadvertently become go-to pieces that I mix with much higher end designer pieces from Jil Sander, Maison Martin Margiela, Rick Owens (oh, I want
