Crop Pants, Culottes, Gaucho… whatever you want to call it, the mid length pant is perfect for transition to fall

Until the calendar officially changes, the weather may still be iffy warm but my mindset is totally in fall mode. Nothing says transition more than a pair of wide leg crop pants, gauchos, culottes or whatever name suits your fancy. The nuances of each are not as dramatic as the style power of the old school length that is new again. The mid length is great for when you're not quite ready to think about tights but want a little more coverage on bare legs. Style Tip: Balance the mid length pant with a chunkier heel ankle boot or shoe or a pair of sleek kicks or menswear flats.   Featured Theodasia Crop Pants from Club Monaco

New York Fashion Week Trend Spotlight: A Longer Hemline at Victoria Beckham Fall 2014

Just loving the ease of a more sophisticated longer hemline at Victoria Beckham Fall 2014. Red continues as THE accent color to a classic palette of black and winter white that holds a sharp contrast to the willowy line of a longer silhouette.  Particularly, the architectural sleekness reminiscent of the early 90's in this exquisite tailored coat.... don't miss the detail on the left hip. RELATED: More from Victoria Beckham Styling Tip: Either a low heeled lace-up shoe as worn with the dress or the graphic contrast of the black and white heel worn with the coat, keep to a narrower toe when wearing a long skirt to avoid a clunky feel. >> MORE: FASHION SHOWS AND RUNWAY REVIEWS And TREND SPOTLIGHTS >>> CLICK: Victoria Beckham  in store

Are you game for vintage style? Try a full 50’s inspired skirt [HINT: It’s all over Cannes]

I have rule around here about never wearing vintage too literally when it's a style that YOU wore in its first fashion outing as it seriously dates you... in other words, makes you look o-l-d. So if you watched I Love Lucy in anything other than a rerun, skip this look. But for the rest of us, why not try a midi-length, flippy & full 50's inspired skirt for some summer dash?   It looks great as an airy summer dress or for a big night out. And you know I've been loving this look for awhile.-- S.H. Jasmine Trinca in Miu Miu (left) and Naomi Watts in Dolce & Gabbana (right) Cannes Do Chic: After seasons of body-con &

What to Wear: From Now to Spring, try a retro flared skirt

Gucci- Graceful and feminine, our fluid caramel linen canvas flared skirt is natural luxe at its best. Pair with wedge sandals and a whisper-light satin tank for retro-tinged sophistication.
I love a look that's easy-breazy and flattering on almost every figure type. As my mom would say, this look has my name written on it. And, it should have your YOUR name on it too. A retro flared skirt-- like the Gucci flared skirt, pictured above-- that falls just below the knee to mid calf is back for spring and you can start interpteting the styling in either Resort now or with a winter's edge. It's the kind of silhouette that works well with chunky platforms or flat thong sandals in warmer climates and platform ankle boots in colder climates. … all comfy shoes, I may add. >>MORE: What to Wear Wear it with a thin camisole top like above, or
