Color of the Year- Rose Quartz and Serenity for 2016

Pantone announced its color of the year and for 2016, it's all about Rose Quartz and Serenity. The colors are all about calm and mindfulness as opposed to the richer Marsala, last year's color of the year. So, pack up your brights, the trend colors are all about muted pales for next year! Or, reworking pales you already have or can find on the sale rack, like the outfit pictured right. Have you heard the news? Green is a goner. Radiant Orchid is THE color of year for 2014

My Inbox (well, "Promotions" box thanks to Google sorting) is flooding with press releases about all the Radiant Orchid items coming out soon since the big announcement yesterday. You see, Emerald Green is so last year. I wasn't really dancing to Tangerine Tango from the year before that. Ta-Ta, Cheerio Tangerine Trend, Emerald Green is THE color for 2013

PANTONE 17-5641 Emerald, a lively, radiant, lush green, is the Color of the Year for 2013.
Woop, Woop: Emerald green is Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2013 Another year, another color of the year. Last year's It color by way of J Brand 811 Mid Rise Luxe Twill Skinny Jeans in Tangerine For 2012, the "it" color was Tangerine Tango, what Pantone describes as a "spirited reddish orange, provided the energy boost we needed to recharge and move forward."  But, that vibrant shade trickled into mass market  to become an overused shade of Boca Coral (yes, I named it; think about it).
