Why wait until Fall 2017 to update your look? The secret to being seen as a success is showing up looking ahead of the curve. Sure, we can wait until next fall (or the few goodies that are available right off the catwalk) to get what is on the runway now, but why? I'm all about finding the nuance, adapting the trend, going for the big picture with what's in store right now. Crop Pants, Culottes, Gaucho… whatever you want to call it, the mid length pant is perfect for transition to fall

Until the calendar officially changes, the weather may still be iffy warm but my mindset is totally in fall mode. Nothing says transition more than a pair of wide leg crop pants, gauchos, culottes or whatever name suits your fancy. The nuances of each are not as dramatic as the style power of the old school length that is new again. The mid length is great for when you're not quite ready to think about tights but want a little more coverage on bare legs. Style Tip: Balance the mid length pant with a chunkier heel ankle boot or shoe or a pair of sleek kicks or menswear flats.   Featured Theodasia Crop Pants from Club Monaco

I'll Have What She's Having: Red carpet your way style inspiration a la Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston and Claire Danes at the S.A.G. Awards It's so easy to dismiss what you see on the red carpet as a fantasy that will never fit into your real life. Red Carpet Your Way: Wear Pants to a Formal! Go against the grain and stand out (Golden Globes a la Emma Stone)

Honestly, I couldn't get myself into the Golden Globes fashion this year. There were plenty of pretty reds, a lot of ho-hum, and a good amount of  "they look nice but so what." Really, when's the next time you (or I) will be dolled up in a major gown? It's fun for the first few times your have the occassion to wear one. After that, it's too much work (for me). I was looking for a way to make the Golden Globes red carpet relatable to something that makes sense for us. Something you could look marvelous in your life, rather than the fantasy of "watching stars in gowns." I found it in Emma Stone. How fresh does a chic

Stylist Advice: You can do this! Audrey Tautou’s easy fitting pants and a girly blouse for French chic élan

Loooove the mix of an otherwise girly ruffled blouse with man-tailored pants. It's the unexpected hit of French chic that you can add to your wardrobe.
I'll Have What She's Having: A lively masculine/feminine French chic mix that hits smart notes by way of a soft blouse and tailored, easy fitting pants We should really call this post, "mix this DON'T match that" as  it's the unexpected combination that works so well. Love the mix of an otherwise girly ruffled blouse with man-tailored pants spotted on French actress Audrey Tautou. It's the unexpected hit of French chic élan that you can add to your wardrobe. Pairing something frilly with something sweet can get a bit too saccharine, while mixing too many man tailored pieces together can get a bit butch. Wide Leg Jeans Tips- How to Wear the Pants Trend

The secret to pulling off this super hot fashion trend is more than just the fit! We certainly all have plenty of skinny jeans in our closets, and I am assuming that you've gotten the memo that they look the most modern these days when paired with a ladylike pump or rolled at the hem with flats. Juliette Binoche rocks a drop crotch Givenchy jumpsuit and we love it

I'll Have What She's Having: A Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy harem jumpsuit If there had to be one major investment trend piece for my wardrobe this season, I would be hard-pressed not to consider the drop-crotch, harem jumpsuit by Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy that Juliette Binoche absolutely rocked in Cannes this week. Drop crotch, harem pants are by far a hard look to pull off but she did so flawlessly. There's always the fear of resembling Diaper Dan or one of those hippie tourists who snooze outside the museums in Europe in stretched out harem pants and dreadlocks. But when worn right, the look is amazing! Givenchy 'Jersey' sandals from mytheresa >> READ: How to wear a jumpsuit like Padma

I’ll Have What She’s Having: Erin O’Connor in Harem Pants

Harem pants or voluminous pegged leg pants are tricky to pull off. More times than not you end up looking like you swiped the pants right off the back of Bozo the Clown... yikes! But when worn just the right way, as Erin O'Connor demonstrated on her way into the Vivienne Westwood Red Label Show during London Fashion Week, the end result is sublime. Here's why... Counterbalance extreme volume on one part of your body with something shaped on your other half. A boxy jacket in a contrasting color would add bulk, like it did in Sienna Miller's case. However, Erin selected a a jacket with a fitted waist, strong shoulders, and an open V-neck in a in the same
