Three Ways to Double Duty Your Style- Business fashion for a back to work mom

Dear Sharon: It's time for me to address what it takes to create a wardrobe of business fashion for a back to work mom. After being away from the concrete jungle for 6 years, it's time to go back to the office on a part-time basis. The thing is that my wardrobe is looking a bit dated and close to a size smaller although I am hoping to get back to my original weight. I want to start to rebuild my wardrobe slowly, as I'm not sure if I will stay in an office environment or opt for consulting work later. What's a good strategy to build an appropriate wardrobe of business fashion for a back to work mom? Business Chic Stylist Advice- How to wear navy with brown

Dear Sharon: I'm 25 years old and work for a professional services firm. I usually wear smart shirts and trousers to work but I've got to admit that I'm a little bored of the usual black trouser, shoes and belt and trying to understand how to wear navy with brown to come out of my comfort zone.  Recently, I bought navy blue straight (almost pencil type) three-quarter trousers from Zara and they came with a chocolate brown belt. The problem is that I want to hold onto the belt but not sure what colour shoes to wear with it. Also, does the brown shade of the belt have to be the same as those of my shoes? Any help is appreciated. Thanks. (A. via Fashion Advice) More Nine West...

Stylist Advice- Help, my heel is too small and I trip out of my shoes!

Dear Sharon:  For the past three years, I trip out of my shoes. It started when I was on the my way to job interview when, all of a sudden, both my feet slipped out of my pumps! I had been wearing these pumps all year and now they didn't fit. It was a nightmare just to make it to the door of the interview as I couldn't take a "normal" step without losing a shoe. So embarrassing! From that day on, no strapless pumps fit me ever again. I have tried so many heel grips, heel pads and even innersoles at the same time, but nothing worked. I have squeezed into a size smaller shoe and although the shoe was super tight in the front,

Beauty Advice- How to make my eyes stand out?

We've got a repeat reader asking for some beauty advice. Always glad to help! Dear Sharon: I've contacted Focus On Style about a year ago and it helped me to change my style completely. I really am quite confident in what I wear now and it's quite fun. Thank you again! I just have a quick question regarding my eyes. I was wondering is there anything I can do to sort of enlarge my eyes to make them stand out a bit? I've tried everything, dark colours, light colours, matt and shine, and Im still quite confused and dont know what fits best. My

Stylist Advice- Is there a rule about mixing metallics?

Pierre Hardy Mixed metallic leather-patterned suede ankle boots
Can this reader pull off mixing metallics all in one outfit? Dear Sharon: O.K, I have a question about metallics. There is this fairly new gold/silver color I love. I have purses, I have sweaters, I have shoes, I have tops with it stitched in etc. I know there is a "double denim" rule but I am not sure about metallics. For example, one day I wore metallic shoes an embellished top and a sweater, they all matched, but it occurred to me it might be an overkill. What is your opinion doubling down on metallics?
