Business Chic Stylist Advice- How to wear navy with brown

Dear Sharon: I'm 25 years old and work for a professional services firm. I usually wear smart shirts and trousers to work but I've got to admit that I'm a little bored of the usual black trouser, shoes and belt and trying to understand how to wear navy with brown to come out of my comfort zone.  Recently, I bought navy blue straight (almost pencil type) three-quarter trousers from Zara and they came with a chocolate brown belt. The problem is that I want to hold onto the belt but not sure what colour shoes to wear with it. Also, does the brown shade of the belt have to be the same as those of my shoes? Any help is appreciated. Thanks. (A. via Fashion Advice) More Nine West...

How to make this reader embrace her curvy petite figure with grace and style. Now doesn't that sound better than short and busty? Dear Sharon:  I am 20 years old and 5'1" with slim legs, hips, and stomach. However, I  have an inverted triangle body type with strong shoulders and a 34DD bust!  My boyfriend recently told me I have a beautiful body and I shouldn't use my clothes to hide it. The problem is, I have a hard time finding clothes that don't make me look stout. Do you have any tips on how I could dress to elongate my body and flatter my chest? I'm tired of dressing dowdy. Thank you so much! (C.K. via Fashion Advice) >>MORE: Petite Fashion Tips  First of all, thee is

5 Trends to Trash or Switch to Update Your Look for 2013

Lose This, Redo That in 2013... Truth be told, I HATE telling anyone to ditch something trendy. Something that is such a quick fad should not be in a chic wardrobe to begin with. There IS a sophisticated difference from looking on trend and  being trendy... particularly, after 25ish. Trendy is a blip on the style meter that spoils faster than a gallon of milk and dates itself in one of those "what was I thinking" old photos. On trend is staying modern, looking fresh and never dated. >>RELATED: How to clean out your closet & the top 20 items to let go It is OK to add a few throwaway trendy pieces here and there just fun of it. What to Wear: From Now to Spring, try a retro flared skirt

Gucci- Graceful and feminine, our fluid caramel linen canvas flared skirt is natural luxe at its best. Pair with wedge sandals and a whisper-light satin tank for retro-tinged sophistication.
I love a look that's easy-breazy and flattering on almost every figure type. As my mom would say, this look has my name written on it. And, it should have your YOUR name on it too. A retro flared skirt-- like the Gucci flared skirt, pictured above-- that falls just below the knee to mid calf is back for spring and you can start interpteting the styling in either Resort now or with a winter's edge. It's the kind of silhouette that works well with chunky platforms or flat thong sandals in warmer climates and platform ankle boots in colder climates. … all comfy shoes, I may add. >>MORE: What to Wear Wear it with a thin camisole top like above, or
