hint, hint... you
can give these as gifts too!
Dear Sharon: I am not involved with anyone special right now and the prospects are rather dim for a
Valentine's Day date. I hate to think of myself
alone at home devouring my gloom with a box of chocolate while all of my girlfriends spend the
"night of romance" with their sweeties. How can I feel less sorry for myself and get through this stupid day for two alone?
--- Mopey Me (Austin, TX)
Dear Mopey: Zowie, you said something right, that "stupid" day for two!!!! My glumped up glamazon of gloom, get a grip and
count your boundless
blessings… holy Hallmark, there is life without a date on Valentine' s Day.
Quit pining away for the perfect prince (you may even find one if you didn't seem so desperate for a date) and
salute your strong, sensual, and single self! Say phooey to all your gloating girlfriends who spend V-day with any old bloke just because they are too insecure to make it on their own. Just take careful care of the real Numero Uno-- you.
Instead of gorging yourself into a Willy Wonka-esque pig-out, indulge with a calorie-free Heavenly Hot Chocolate Body Wrap from NYC's Haven (212-343-3515) that produces
the silkiest touch this side of a Hermes Scarf.
Audra Senkus-Iemma, Haven's owner, came up with a yummy, less complicated
at-home concoction that bathes you in the same basic rehydrating properties as the in-spa wrap.
 |
Audra's
recipe for a sensationally smooth chocolate infused milk
bath: |
· Exfoliate skin with a body brush or loofah.
· Pour a generous amount of
milk into bath water and experience the benefits of the moo juice's lactic acid. Whole milk is best for dry skin, powder milk is more concentrated,
and skim milk is preferred for oily skin.
· unsweetened cocoa powder for a sinfully delicious
scent.
· Soak
about 15 minutes.
· At the ready, have a homemade scrub of kosher salt blended with either bath gel or oil to gently
polish dead skin away.
· off.
· Apply a really good moisturizer, Haven uses Serendipity 3 Frrrozen Hot Chocolate Body Icing; available by phone-order, 212-343-3515.
Voila,
no-cal pleasure!
